Minitex is excited to offer official NACO Training with Mark K. Ehlert, Cataloging and Metadata Librarian at the University of St. Thomas and Coordinator of the Minnesota NACO Funnel. NACO (Name Authority Cooperative Program) is a fundamental program of the PCC (Program for Cooperative Cataloging). This formal training prepares participants to contribute authority records for agents (persons, families, corporate bodies), places, works, and expressions to the Library of Congress NACO Authority File.

This training is designed for catalogers who are proficient with copy cataloging in a bibliographic utility (OCLC or SkyRiver) and looking for an opportunity to deepen their cataloging practice. Current members of the Minnesota NACO Funnel are welcome to join us for a refresher of your knowledge and skills. All sessions will be recorded and training participants will have access to recordings if they need some flexibility during this course of study.
