MLF Silent Auction returns to MLA Annual Conference

The Minnesota Library Foundation (MLF) Silent Auction is one of the main fund raising activities of MLF and has become a highlight for many conference attendees. The money raised will allow MLF to fund the Minnesota Author Project Awards and the Minnesota Institute for Leadership Excellence (MILE) grants.

Postsecondary Child Care Grant: Funding available for student parents

The Postsecondary Child Care Grant Program is a financial aid program that assists low-income students completing their undergraduate or graduate studies. Eligible students can receive up to $6,500 per eligible child per academic year to pay for child care while they attend classes.

Ready, Set, FAFSA! - Financial aid webinar series for students and families

The Minnesota Office of Higher Education is offering four sessions in October, designed to prepare students and families as they apply for college and seek financial aid. Students will be entered into a drawing to win a single $500 scholarship for each session they attend.

Data allegedly taken from University of Minnesota systems

The University of Minnesota has acknowledged that an unauthorized party claimed, earlier this summer, to be in possession of sensitive University data. There is no indication that any data related to Minitex services was affected. University officials issued an update, including plans to contact affected individuals, on September 21.
