The Northfield Public Library inaugurated its new branch, the "Oasis," at a ribbon cutting ceremony on February 29. The Oasis is located in the Northfield Community Resource Center near three public schools and a number of low-income housing developments.

The Minnesota Library Access Center (MLAC) will open its doors to the public the weekend of May 18-19 as a part of the annual Doors Open Minneapolis event. More than 100 organizations are participating in the event, including MLAC and Hennepin County's Minneapolis Central Library.
