Body

On Thursday, Aug. 15, Minitex Resource Sharing held our annual Public Library Node meeting at the Hennepin County Brookdale Library. Several interlibrary loan staff from public libraries across Minnesota attended, with a turnout of around 50.

The new Minitex Resource Sharing Associate Director Gerri Moeller started the event by welcoming attendees. Attendees learned and participated in a discussion about a wide variety of relevant interlibrary loan related topics, rounded out with other updates about Minitex and Minnesota State Library Services. Brian Lind, from the Rochester Public Library, shared the story of their Convert-o-Lab where users can utilize tools for transferring archaic audio & visual mediums to modern technological formats. Nick Banitt shared a few updates about the MNLINK transition to Relais D2D, from a recent phone conference with OCLC's Relais staff. The end of life for the VDX software is extended to June 2024. Planning for the transition continues, and the Relais staff are hoping to visit Minnesota soon to learn more about workflow expectations for the MNLINK community.

We appreciate everyone who took the time to attend and thank all of the folks who presented.
