While Laura Ingalls Wilder is undoubtedly the area's most famous resident, the Museum's mission includes the collection, preservation, and display of all aspects of local history. The grounds inlcude nine buildings including a 1870s railroad depot, an onion-domed home from 1904, the Masters Hotel built in 1876, and several buildings devoted to the display and understanding of local history.
