The Dorothy Molter Museum, located in Ely, preserves and interprets the Minnesota's northwoods wilderness heritage through learning opportunities inspired by Dorothy Molter, the last non-indigenous resident of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). Utilizing two original cabins moved from Knife Lake and reconstructed in Ely, and a collection of personal belongings, the museum strives to inspire the next generation of northwoods stewards through Dorothy’s legacy.
