Quick Summary
This four-part series, presented by Minitex and MLA, will give library staff the knowledge they need to do a better job running meetings as well as participating in them. Professional Registered Parliamentarian Pat Reymann will lead the sessions. Registration is free, and is now open.
I often tell people that libraries are about much more than books. They're about meetings, too! I've never actually said that, but it is true. And many of us know we could do a better job running meetings and participating in them.
That's why I'm so excited that Minitex is partnering with the Minnesota Library Association to present the following four-part webinar series on parliamentary procedure for libraries. It will be beneficial for participants to attend each session, but we will welcome participants who are unable to do so.
- October 25 - What Happens at Meetings? Topics covered: Roles of the President and Secretary, quorum, order of business, setting an agenda. REGISTER.

- November 22 - Special Motions. Topics covered: Amendments, postponements, referrals to committee. REGISTER.
- December 6 - Voting Plus. Topics covered: Methods of voting, majority versus two thirds, unanimous consent. REGISTER.
Each one-hour session will be conducted via Zoom and begin at 10:30 a.m. There is no cost to attend. The instructor for our sessions will be Pat Reymann.
