The Minnesota Library Association honored Sara Ring with their President's Award on October 8 at the St. Paul RiverCentre. The President's Award "recognizes significant and major contributions" by members of the Association. Ring is former chair of the MLA Communications Committee and led the effort this year to digitize and preserve a portion of the MLA archives. The materials are now available via the Minnesota Reflections website and "include founding documents of the Association, scripts for a call-in radio show called Fact Finders (1938), the first traveling library list of books (1898), annual conference programs dating back to 1896, and Association newsletters."

MLA also presented the William G. Asp Distinguished Career Award to Ken Behringer and Above and Beyond Awards to Barbara Bissen, Jolene Bradley, and Christine Schafer. More information about the awards and recipients is available on the MLA website.
