Minitex staff member Sara Ring will provide a custom, two-part virtual training on the purpose and principles of linked data and their meaning for libraries and library patrons. Ninety-minute sessions will be offered on back-to-back mornings, February 1-2.
For the second time in five years, the Minnesota Library Association has recognized Sara Ring with an award. MLA President Kirsten Clark presented Sara the Above and Beyond Award on September 19 at the 2019 MLA Annual Conference at Mystic Lake Center.
The Minnesota Library Association honored Sara Ring with their President's Award on October 8 at the St. Paul RiverCentre. The President's Award "recognizes significant and major contributions" by members of the Association. Ring is former chair of the MLA Communications Committee and led the effort this year to digitize and preserve a portion of the MLA archives.
The Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) and DigitalNZ teamed up this fall to host a competition called GIF IT UP. They asked contributors to submit animated GIFs made from public domain or openly licensed digital content discoverable via the search portals at DPLA and DigitalNZ. The winners of the competition were announced on the DPLA website.
The Minnesota Digital Library is a collaboration of unique digital collections from libraries, archives, historical societies, museums, and other organizations from across Minnesota.
