Quick Summary
OCLC will discontinue its support and testing of Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 9 and 10 with its WorldCat Discovery and WorldShare applications beginning July 1, 2016.
From Erin Duncan, OCLC Product Marketing Manager, Branding & Creative Services:
OCLC will discontinue its support and testing of Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 9 and 10 with its WorldCat Discovery and WorldShare applications beginning July 1, 2016. This is in line with Microsoft’s discontinued support of Internet Explorer (IE) versions 9 and 10 that took effect on January 12, 2016. As of July 1, 2016, WorldCat Discovery and WorldShare applications will work with IE 9 and 10. However, users will likely experience increasing degradation in usability and function over time.
We’re discontinuing support of these two IE versions because supporting deprecated browser versions adds to development and support time. This has an impact on how quickly features can be delivered.
If your institution will continue to use IE 9 or 10 unsupported, we highly recommend that you install either Mozilla FireFox or Google Chrome for an improved experience.
If you are currently limited to using IE 9 or 10, now is the time to begin working with your technical staff to upgrade your browsers to IE 11, Firefox or Chrome.
