The Northfield Historical Society, located in historic downtown Northfield, Minnesota, was founded in 1975 and is committed to being the primary community resource that honors, preserves and interprets Northfield's unique place in history, building a bridge from its past to its future. The images submitted to Minnesota Reflections showcase Northfield history from the early 1850s to the late 1940s. The images look at historic downtown Northfield, some early pioneers in Northfield, the attempted raid by the James-Younger Gang, and St. Olaf College and Carleton College. There are some amazing weather pictures including a snow storm in 1888 that dumped three feet of snow in Northfield.
