University of South Dakota seeks Access Services Librarian

This position serves USD's Wegner Health Sciences Library, located in Sioux Falls. The library will begin considering applications June 9. The position requires 1-3 years of library experience, and candidates that hold the MLIS or MLS degree are preferred.

New law expands voter access in Minnesota

The Democracy for the People Act expands access to the ballot for Minnesotans by enabling automatic voter registration, among other measures. Registration is now open for two information sessions presented by the Office of the Secretary of State. Additional sessions can also be scheduled to meet the needs of specific communities.

To continue celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, I paid a visit to Shuqi Ye at the University of Minnesota's East Asian Library. The library's holdings of untranslated materials comprise one of just 50 such collections in North America.

Time is running out for entries in Minnesota's statewide author contest

The Minnesota Author Project is a library-supported contest for self-published authors and community groups. The contest is accepting submissions for this year's prizes through May 31. Winners receive a $2,000 cash prize and their books are featured in an online collection and promoted in Library Journal and at Minnesota Libraries.
