Body

When we received the responses to our recent training needs survey, we saw that many of the participants were interested in learning more about classification systems, including Library of Congress Classification (LCC). You're in luck! ALCTS (Association for Library Collections & Technical Services, a division of ALA) is offering a series of two webinars on just this topic. Hosted by Minnesota's own Bobby Bothmann, the Introduction level webinar will "briefly introduce the history of LC Classification (LCC) and the general principles of classification," while the Intermediate level on September 21 "will focus on the selection and construction of LC Classification (LCC) call numbers."

This promises to be an informative and interesting series! You can find more information on the Introduction class here, and the Intermediate class is described here.
