Body

As we approach Latinx Heritage Month, we are reminded of the rich tapestry of cultures, histories, and contributions that Latinx communities bring to every aspect of life, including libraries. Latinx library professionals play a crucial role in creating environments that promote knowledge, community, and inclusion. To honor and highlight these contributions, we invite you to share the story of how your cultural identity has influenced your work. We will share your stories in articles, social media posts, and newsletter highlights throughout the month.

To participate, please fill out this Google form. It asks a few questions and provides an opportunity to share an image. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at maldo126@umn.edu.

Your story will contribute to a broader understanding of how culture and identity intersect with librarianship and reinforce the importance of having diverse voices in libraries. It is important to recognize and highlight the ways in which your heritage informs your work, the challenges you've faced and overcome, and the meaningful contributions you make to your community. By participating, you are not only celebrating your own journey but also inspiring others and contributing to the collective voice advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion in libraries.

The impact you have on your community cannot be overstated. Thank you in advance for your participation and for all you do!
