Primary Function
This position provides advanced digitization services for the Digital Library Services unit working on a number of digitization projects. This work is done under the direction and supervision of DLS staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepare various physical formats for digitization including cross-referencing, correcting and/or creating inventory spreadsheets with particular emphasis on oversized and overhead camera materials.
- Digitize print and text-based materials using various scanning equipment, assisting senior photographer with capture projects as needed.
- Handle post-scan administrative processes such as quality control review, editing, renaming, and file delivery.
- Assist with basic metadata clean-up projects: cross-reference, edit, or correct basic descriptive metadata using supplied spreadsheets.
- Document/track edits, maintaining constant communication with supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Experience handling archival, special collections, and other fragile materials, particularly large oversized and art-based materials.
- Experience updating or creating descriptive metadata for archival and special collections according to national and local best practices.
- Experience with ContentDM collections management system.
- Experience or familiarity working with different types of scanning equipment in a production environment.

This is a part-time, temporary position. The base pay is $17.50/hour.
