Primary Function
The library assistant will primarily be responsible for providing assistance to library patrons in-person and over the phone, performing stacks maintenance, and creating library programs and displays. This position will also coordinate workflow of student workers in absence of supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to library patrons in-person and over the phone
- Shelve, shelf-read, and perform stacks maintenance
- Plan, design, and create library programs and displays
- Coordinate workflow of student workers in absence of supervisor
- Assist with training of new student employees
- Provide back-up staffing for desks, as needed
Required Qualifications
- Problem-solving and communication skills
- Independent decision-making abilities
- Excellent customer service skills
- In-depth knowledge of Alma and other library processes and resources
- Extensive knowledge of the University Libraries systems, policies, procedures and referral information for library users

This is a part-time, temporary position. The base pay is $17.13/hour.
