American Library Association RUSA STARS Awards nominations now open

Nominations are now open for three American Library Association (ALA) Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) Sharing and Transforming Access to Resources Section (STARS) Awards. Please consider nominating yourself or a colleague! The deadline for submission is February 20, 2026.

Mentoring Award

The Mentoring Award, sponsored by Atlas Systems, is an annual cash award of $1,250 for travel and related expenses to attend the ALA Annual Conference, and is intended for persons interested in a mentoring opportunity. The award is given to a library practitioner new to the field of interlibrary loan (ILL), resource sharing, or electronic reserves.

Publication Recognition Award

The Publication Recognition Award consists of a citation and is intended to highlight and encourage excellence in publication in STARS areas, including ILL, document delivery, remote circulation, access services, cooperative reference, cooperative collection development, remote storage, and other shared library services.

Virginia Boucher Distinguished ILL Librarian Award

The Virginia Boucher Distinguished ILL Librarian Award, sponsored by OCLC, is a $2,000 award that recognizes and honors a librarian for outstanding professional achievement, leadership, and contributions to ILL and document delivery.
