Haley Begordis was hired by Minitex in March 2022. She works in Resource Sharing, assisting with electronic delivery. Her unit's goal - in her own words - is "to get the articles sent to patrons as soon as possible with the highest quality!"
Q: What made you interested in working in libraries?
Haley: I'm interested in working in libraries because I believe that everyone deserves access to free and accessible education - whether it be for school or personal use.
Q: Do you have a cool library experience that you'd like to share?
Haley: I loved participating in the summer reads program at my local library when I was a kid. I would win tons of stuff like state fair tickets or even gift cards. It's a great way to get kids to start and keep reading when outside of school.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your new position?
Haley: I enjoy being able to see all the interesting articles that patrons are requesting. You learn something new every day!
Q: What are some things you like to do in your free time?
Haley: I love to read. I usually read 2-3 books a week. But I also love spending time with my animals. I have two cats, a hamster and fish.
Q: Do you have a dream travel destination?
Haley: I would love to go to Japan someday. I'd love to see all their different shrines and temples. I also want to ride their high speed trains!
Q: Any other random facts about you that we should know?
Haley: I love to study languages - but not necessarily learn how to speak them. I studied linguistics, so I love making connections among all languages.
