Original Text
Minitex Resource Sharing and Delivery services will be suspended as of Tuesday, March 17. All Minitex delivery routes will be cancelled through Friday, March 27. Our suspension of services will be reconsidered at that time.
Minitex and the University of Minnesota Libraries came to this decision in the wake of University of Minnesota President Joan Gabel’s announcement that all University libraries systemwide will close March 17, and in consultation with the Minnesota Department of Education and Minnesota Office of Higher Education. Additional key factors that led us to this decision were the increasing pace of building closures and ILL service suspensions at libraries of all types across Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota, and the health and safety of staff at Minitex and our partner libraries.
We thank our partners throughout the library community for openly communicating with us as we confront this unprecedented public health challenge. We will continue to share updates as they become available and hope that you will continue sharing information with us as this situation continues to unfold.
