Minitex has a long relationship with couriers. This has paid off for us in great service, effective scheduling of most deliveries, and expanded delivery options such as "on demand" and special deliveries outside of our scheduled services.
Every five years Minitex has solicited bids in a Request for Proposal (RFP) for courier service. We have been happy overall with our couriers. Extending the bidding and the possibility of awarding service to a different courier has its own pitfalls. This year University Purchasing has given us the option to negotiate a contract with our current couriers.
We will be continuing service with Alliance Courier for delivery in greater Minnesota and the Metro area. Ontrac Courier will be handling delivery for our South Dakota participants. These are 3-year contracts with options to extend 2 more years with set limits on the price increases.
