Quick Summary
The Minitex courier service restarted on Monday, June 22, for those direct courier locations able to accept delivery. Many libraries have different hours, days open, building access locations, and procedures. We will do our best to accommodate all of these changes.

It’s been a little over three months since the vans stopped making deliveries and picking up items from libraries across the state, and a lot has changed. Many libraries have different hours, days open, building access locations, and procedures. We will do our best to accommodate all of these changes, but expect there will be delays and a few bumps along the way.
Items will be quarantined for three days before arriving on the Minitex loading dock for processing, and will also be quarantined for three days after leaving Minitex before arriving at our partner libraries. This three-day quarantine seems to be supported by the REALM Project. Their first round of tests demonstrated that “standard office temperature and relative humidity conditions… provide an environment that allows for the natural attenuation of SARS-CoV-2 present on these common materials after three days of quarantine.”
For now, we're asking libraries to refrain from submitting interlibrary loan requests until the backlog is complete. Once we've worked through the backlog, we'll ask libraries to limit their interlibrary loan requests to five per patron. We'll let you know when we're ready to move on to that next step.
If you have questions or concerns please contact me or Fred Finch as soon as possible. We'll do our best to make things right.
