Quick Summary
My first thought on seeing the cover of "Cinnamon and Gunpowder" was that it might be about the French Revolution because of the clothing styles, and one character being a chef. I was close on the date at least!
My first thought on seeing the cover of "Cinnamon and Gunpowder" was that it might be about the French Revolution because of the clothing styles, and one character being a chef. I was close on the date at least! According to the Goodreads review, this novel is set in 1819, and is "the Scheherazade story turned on its head, at sea, with food." You can read the whole review here. As someone who checks out more cookbooks than novels myself, this might be another one to get me back to some fiction.
The rest of our Fabulous Five this week are "Dearly Depotted", "Help Me, Jesus! I Have Nothing To Wear!", "Win A Date With Tad Hamilton", and "Kindness Goes Unpunished."
