The Minnesota Digital Library (MDL) is pleased to announce that we have published four new Primary Source Sets on our website. These sets focus on the lumber industry in Minnesota, Minnesota's three major railroads, Sinclair Lewis's experiences living and working in Duluth, and the rise and fall of Twin Cities streetcars.

We have also revamped the look and organization of all the existing Primary Source Sets as well as the main project page with the launch of our updated website. These changes have increased the size of our image thumbnails, reorganized the classroom activities and discussion questions, and added a new sidebar asking teachers and students to "Think Like a Historian." Plus, newly published sets are now featured on our home page for everyone to see.

MDL staff is excited to offer these new ways to interact with the amazing historical sources in our online collections. We are developing more sets to be published in the future. Visit mndigital.org periodically to see what's new!

MORE ABOUT PRIMARY SOURCE SETS

Using images, documents, maps, oral histories, and more from cultural heritage organizations across Minnesota, these sets explore specific topics in Minnesota history. Each set includes a topic overview, ten to twenty primary sources, links to related resources, and a teaching guide which includes classroom discussion questions and activities. We invite educators and researchers to use these primary source sets in their teaching and learning.
