Last week I attended another in ALA's Media Literacy webinar series. This session was titled, Media Literacy for Adults: Architecture of the Internet, and presented by Natasha Casey, Professor of Communications at Blackburn College. Her presentation was filled with information on how our digital environment functions, including cookies, algorithms, and questions to ask to start a discussion or program with library patrons.

This year we have the first female U.S. Vice President and the first woman coach in Super Bowl history. Women are beginning to get some of the recognition they deserve and that is why celebrating Women's History Month is more important now than ever. By recognizing the contributions of women throughout time, and in the present day, Women's History Month helps to open up that world of possibilities to young girls.

The Minnesota Digital Library (MDL) has published four new Primary Source Sets on our website. These sets focus on the lumber industry in Minnesota, Minnesota's three major railroads, Sinclair Lewis's experiences living and working in Duluth, and the rise and fall of Twin Cities streetcars.
