The Health Heroes series, aimed at grades K-3, offers information on the responsibilities and tasks of careers in the health field. Readers can learn about real-life careers, such as flight nurse, paramedic, psychologist, or doctor. Another series for early elementary grades is Mindful Spaces. These books introduce readers to the importance of mindfulness and why it is beneficial and explain how children can use tools to slow down and pay attention to their bodies. Titles in this series include Mindfulness and me, Mindfulness and my body, Mindfulness and my emotions, and Mindfulness and nature.
The Helping Paws Academy series for upper elementary students includes titles that feature puppies working with their handlers as they visit hospitals and learn about illnesses, such as epilepsy, appendicitis, leukemia, diabetes, and more. Titles from the Edge of Medicine series are also appropriate for grades 3-5. Books in this series highlight scientific breakthroughs in medicine, including transplants, vaccines, robotics, and more. Some other titles for upper elementary, middle, and high school students include Period: the quick guide to every uterus, My life beyond depression, and My life beyond sickle cell disease. Tired teens: understanding and conquering chronic fatigue and POTS explores what is happening in the bodies of teens, as well as treatment options.
Many new titles for adults are also part of this collection. These include books about controlling high blood pressure, arthritis, fibromyalgia, incontinence, digestive health, aging, menopause, and sexual health. The Mayo Clinic a-z Health Guide, as well as the 2021 and 2022 Mayo Clinic Health Letter: Year in Review, are available, as well as numerous, diet-related titles.
Space care: a kid's guide to surviving in space, looks at how living in space affects astronauts' physical and mental health. All bleeding stops: life and death in the trauma unit delves into the everyday work of trauma surgeons. Becoming Dr. Q depicts the life of an internationally famous neurosurgeon who came to America as a 19-year-old illegal migrant worker. Day to day living with dementia: a Mayo Clinic guide for offering care and support is a book that many people can benefit from as it assists caregivers in understanding, supporting, and caring for loved ones diagnosed with dementia.
