Quick Summary
On Leap Day of this year, Ebooks Minnesota turned 8. Help us celebrate this milestone by sharing the books you've explored, read, shared, or featured with a class, in a very brief survey.
Launched as a pilot project in 2016 using the BiblioBoard platform, Ebooks Minnesota came about after a 2013 survey reported that access to ebooks was the most important issue facing libraries in Minnesota. The goal, originally, was to provide Minnesota's residents with an online ebook collection from Minnesota-based small and independent publishers. Over the past 8 years, Ebooks Minnesota has grown to include approximately 9,500 titles representing 14 different languages, including read-along and narrated books.
You can access the results of a recent diversity audit by viewing the Ebooks Minnesota DEIA Data Visualization. This allows for viewing of titles by diversity category, collection growth, publisher, title, and age range. Currently, 11% of the collection is ranked as diverse and we hope to grow this number as titles are added to the collection in 2024.
Since 2020, Ebooks Minnesota has hosted 11 titles for the statewide book club, One Book | One Minnesota, including books written by Minnesota authors. In recent years, Ebooks Minnesota has partnered with MYRA to offer the Star of the North and Maud Hart Lovelace nominees for a limited time. Continuing a partnership with the Mayo Clinic Press we look forward to adding several health-related titles in the coming year.
To celebrate this statewide ebook collection we would love to gather some general information from the library and K-12 community regarding Ebooks Minnesota and usage. Please take a moment to fill out this very brief survey relating to your use of the collection.
