Ebooks Minnesota has added many titles this year that will be of interest to elementary and secondary students and teachers for classroom use. While it can be challenging to work through digital textbook access issues, the titles in Ebooks Minnesota can be easily accessed by anyone in Minnesota without a login via an iPad app or through a browser. While an unlimited number of users can use Ebooks Minnesota titles at once at ebooksmn.org in a traditional browser without login, it is helpful to ask your media specialist, digital learning coordinator, or tech integrationist to make sure that your school has access to titles and SIS integration through Ebooks Minnesota's vendor, Mackin. Having a MackinVia account allows students to login to check out titles, bookmark pages, annotate, and more. Mackin offers school districts free accounts if they would like to take advantage of these personalization features to access Ebooks Minnesota. Alternatively, you can ask students to create their own accounts without SIS integration following these instructions.

If you are unsure if your school has access to Ebooks Minnesota through MackinVia, contact Brian Cretzmeyer at Mackin (brian.cretzmeyer@mackin.com) to make sure things are working in the way that teachers will need to make things as seamless as possible.

If you would like to create links to content in Ebooks Minnesota that will work for students, create groups of books for a class, create class sets, and use all of the teaching and learning elements of MackinVia, please reach out to us and we can assist.  We can set up a one-on-one or group meeting to discuss the ins and outs of using Ebooks Minnesota in the classroom.

And if you have any other questions and/or would like a consult or custom training, please contact us. We're here to help!
