Quick Summary
Just as books are important to children, so too is diversity in children's books. Reading books about different cultures, religions, backgrounds, and people can help to instill love and inspire acceptance. This can happen anytime. During playtime, before bed, or anytime in between, a diverse book can be a great way to start the conversation and create a new way of thinking without children even realizing it.

Diverse books can represent the reality of the world, and the reality of the United States, one of the most diverse countries on the planet. In recent years there have been some improvements in the diversity of children's literature, but there is still a very long way to go. With hopes of adding more diversity to the Ebooks Minnesota collection in the years to come, we highlight those diverse titles currently in the collection with the Diverse Children's Books curation.
