The Great North Star Read Together
Body

On Saturday, September 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., libraries across Minnesota will host The Great North Star Read Together, a statewide celebration of the heart of every community: our libraries.

Users of all types of libraries are asked to drop in and read to show that Minnesotans are library supporters! Check out the Great North Star Read Together website to find the location and information for your local event.

This all-ages event invites Minnesotans to show up, settle in, and support their local libraries by doing something simple and powerful—reading. Whether it’s five minutes or the full two hours, readers are encouraged to bring a book, grab a chair, and help shine a spotlight on the vital roles libraries play in our lives.

Why? Because libraries are more than buildings and bestsellers. They’re gathering spots, learning hubs for everyone, safe spaces, and cornerstones for informed, thriving communities. This statewide read-in is a joyful way to show that we see—and need—our libraries. Encourage your community to show up and read and celebrate our libraries! Let’s remind Minnesota what libraries make possible and fill the state with readers on September 20. #MNReadsTogether #MNLibraryReadIn2025
