Quick Summary

The inaugural Great North Star Read Together is a statewide Read In and celebration of Minnesota libraries. Consider hosting an event at your library!

The Great North Star Read Together
Body

On September 20, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., ALL RESIDENTS of Minnesota are invited to gather at specific libraries to show support for ALL LIBRARIES by reading a good book for an hour or two. This is an event celebrating libraries and all they do for the community.

The planning committee, consisting of representatives from Minnesota Library Association, CRPLSA, the Multicounty Multitype Library Systems, ITEM, Minitex, and the University of Minnesota Libraries,  is hoping that Minnesotans all around the state will come and read for as much or as little time as they can during the two-hour window. The library that has the highest percentage of residents attending the event will be recognized at the MLA conference!

We are looking for all types of libraries scattered across Minnesota to act as hosts for this event. You can read more and register as a site here.

The Great North Star Read Together web site has resources to help plan your event and serves as a central location for all information about the event, the locations of all participating libraries, logos and images, and a toolkit for planning.
