Responsibilities
- Act as supervisory presence on Saturdays for both HSL and Walter Library
- Provide back-up staffing for desks at HSL and Walter Library, as needed
- Work toward creating a comfortable, welcoming environment for users and co-workers
- Provide training for HSL student employees at the service desk
- Assist with onboarding and orientation of new HSL student employees
- Coordinate workflow of student workers
- Provide public service that meets and exceeds user needs and expectations
- Answer and transfer phone calls to appropriate service points or library staff
- Provide virtual reference services to the university community through LibAnswers
Required Qualifications
- Problem-solving and communication skills
- Independent decision-making abilities
- Excellent customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 or more years’ experience working with library circulation
- In-depth knowledge of Alma and other library processes and resources
- Extensive knowledge the University Libraries systems, policies, procedures and referral information for library users
