Responsibilities

  • Processing of archival collections, including accessioning, sorting, and arranging historical
    records with the possibility of applying different criteria to different projects, following directions
    of professional staff.
  • Creation of finding aids in ArchivesSpace for collections or metadata for digital collections as
    appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic office skills (filing, alphabetizing, sorting, accurate typing).
  • Able to perform essential physical demands includes, but is not limited to: frequent standing,
    walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping/bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to serve and interact with customers and guests in a pleasant and accurate manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with both verbal and written skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, multi-tasking, and independent decision making.
  • Detail oriented.
  • A basic understanding and interest in the history of children’s literature.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff.
