Responsibilities
- Processing of archival collections, including accessioning, sorting, and arranging historical
records with the possibility of applying different criteria to different projects, following directions
of professional staff. - Creation of finding aids in ArchivesSpace for collections or metadata for digital collections as
appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Basic office skills (filing, alphabetizing, sorting, accurate typing).
- Able to perform essential physical demands includes, but is not limited to: frequent standing,
walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping/bending, and reaching. - Ability to serve and interact with customers and guests in a pleasant and accurate manner.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well with both verbal and written skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, multi-tasking, and independent decision making.
- Detail oriented.
- A basic understanding and interest in the history of children’s literature.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff.
