Under the direction of the Library Director, this position:

  • Plans, coordinates, implements and promotes various library programs, typically geared towards adults.
  • Provides research assistance, reader's advisory, chat reference, and instruction for all library patrons.
  • Maintains assigned collection areas; fiction, nonfiction, reference, databases, etc.
  • Performs outreach services to engage the community in the library and its services.
  • Performs all phases of cataloging and classifying materials for Adult Fiction, Nonfiction and Reference.
  • Works cooperatively with all staff.
  • Provides support services to patrons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds using excellent customer service skills.

Starting hourly salary is $33.46 per hour with an excellent benefits package. This position will work forty (40) hours per week. 

A Master of Library Sciences degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program or equivalent education/experience is required. Public Library experience is preferred.
