Quick Summary
Sign up for both in-person and virtual judging for Minnesota History Day is now open. Judges do not have to be historians! They are seeking volunteers from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.
Minnesota History Day staff anticipate 5,000 young scholars will participate at Regional events and State History Day, eager to discuss their work on this year’s annual theme, “Frontiers in History: People, Places, Ideas.” It is exciting for students to step out of the classroom and share their projects with the community. Your role as a competition judge is an essential part of the program.
They are seeking judges for in-person events as well as some virtual opportunities. Look at the FAQ for full dates and opportunities. Experienced History Day judges are essential to a successful competition. If you’ve judged for History Day before, either in Minnesota or another state, please sign-up early. Judge training will be offered in advance of the Regional event contests virtually. On the day-of in-person events, they will have a brief orientation that focuses on specific event logistics. Details and dates on these will be available in February.
The Minnesota History Day website will always have the most up-to-date information.
