Quick Summary
The Minnesota Office of Higher Education is in the midst of a series of college and financial aid webinars created specifically for students and families to help them prepare for college. Recordings of the first three sessions are available online, and the final two sessions are scheduled for October 18 and October 25. Spread the word at your library so your patrons don't miss this valuable opportunity.
Upcoming sessions are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18 and Tuesday, October 25. The one-hour sessions, each of which covers a different topic, will feature a short presentation with financial aid experts. The series of sessions has been dubbed, "Ready, Set, FAFSA!" Interpretation will be provided in Spanish, Hmong, and Somali, and presenters will take questions from participants via chat. All students who attend will be entered in a drawing to win a $500 scholarship.
All "Ready, Set, FAFSA!" resources are available on the Office of Higher Education's website, including registration, session descriptions, links to view past-session recordings, and promotional toolkits in English, Hmong, Somali, and Spanish.
The three previously held events covered applying to college, understanding financial aid, and preparing to apply for financial aid. The upcoming events will focus on applying for financial aid and, finally, searching for scholarships.
