The City of Rochester, MN is currently looking to hire a Head of Marketing and Community Engagement at our Public Library. The Head of Marketing and Community Engagement is a professional, supervisory position responsible for the marketing strategy and community engagement program for the Rochester Public Library.

Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: analyzing and using data to make informed marketing decisions, developing targeted audiences for communications and engagement activities, aligning communications efforts as part of the City’s overall communications and branding efforts, and serving as a Library representative to community groups.

This position reports to the Library Director and works closely with Library Division Heads, Library teammates and a variety of stakeholders, including Library users, community groups and community leaders.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations or related field and three (3) years of experience in a marketing, public relations, or communications position.
OR
Master of Library Science and three (3) years of experience in a marketing, public relations or communications position.
 
Licenses and/or Certifications
Valid driver's license

About the Rochester Public Library

RPL, a division of the City of Rochester, MN, is a very busy downtown library and bookmobile (approximately 600,000 visits per year, with more than 60,000 cardholders, a collection of more than 460,000 items, over 1.6 1.7 million items checked out annually and the busiest bookmobile in the state of Minnesota). RPL serves the City of Rochester, Olmsted County, and visitors from all over the world.

With a relatively new Strategic Plan (adopted in January 2020), the Head of Marketing and Community Engagement is responsible for the implementation of the library's Marketing and Communications Plan.
