The Minnesota Legislative Reference Library seeks a friendly and detail-oriented person to manage the circulation functions of the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library, assist patrons with legislative history research, assist with processing print and electronic documents, and provide general support for the programs and services of the Library.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Approachable and accessible public service demeanor
  • Basic computer skills
  • Familiarity with the legislative process

Desired Qualifications and Characteristics

  • At least one year of previous library experience
  • Basic understanding of the construction of library catalog records
  • Curiosity, flexibility, and persistence in pursuing information
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, organize efficiently, and make appropriate decisions
  • Grace under pressure, and the ability to prioritize quickly in busy situations
  • Detail oriented
  • Basic HTML knowledge

Salary and Benefits

This is a 75%-time, nonpartisan position with benefits. Minimum salary is $32,102 for a 30-hour work week. For benefit information, visit benefits.
