Quick Summary

After testing the waters over the last few issues, we are officially changing the frequency of the Digital Initiatives & Metadata Review newsletter to a bi-monthly schedule. The schedule is subject to change, but we plan to send out newsletters for 2020 in February, April, June, August, October, and December.

Body

After testing the waters over the last few issues, we are officially changing the frequency of the Digital Initiatives & Metadata Review newsletter to a bi-monthly schedule. The schedule is subject to change, but we plan to send out newsletters for 2020 in February, April, June, August, October, and December. You may also occasionally receive an email notification for a particular time sensitive event or training opportunity.

Note that this will only affect newsletter subscribers. If you chose “updates” when you subscribed to Minitex News, you will still continue to receive an email notIfication any time a new article is published under Digital Initiatives and Metadata Education.

Heading into 2020, here are a few projects on the docket for the near future:

  • Welcoming the new Minitex Director, Maggie Snow
  • Planning Name Authority Cooperative Organization (NACO) training for later in 2020
  • Implementing the new MDL Strategic Plan
  • Offering additional MDL rights statements implementation workshops
  • Ramping up planning for spring MDL regional meetings and the fall 2020 Upper Midwest Digital Collections Conference
  • Planning additional cataloging and digitization related training and presentations throughout 2020

Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for more updates as we work on these projects and more!
