Hello! My name is Jordan Wagaman, and I’m the new Communications Associate at Minitex. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2017, and now I’m back at the University as a staff member! I specialize in graphic design, which basically means that I have strong opinions about fonts and logos. My role at Minitex will involve designing print and web materials, curating social media, and writing articles for Minitex News! I’m going to help strengthen the Minitex brand and widen our reach so that more people will know about the library services we provide.

I’ve loved libraries since before I can remember. My library’s summer reading program was always one of the highlights of my break (after my birthday, of course), and I read every book they had about outer space… or at least, every book in the children’s section. Having access to so many different books enriched my education, but it also helped me figure out my passions and learn more about myself! That’s the kind of experience everyone deserves when they go to a library, and I want to do my part to support these libraries with my work at Minitex.

My family moved to Minnesota when I was thirteen, and I would like to consider myself a Minnesota native at this point, but I’m still not sure if ten years is enough time for me to make that claim. I currently live in Minneapolis with my aloe plant that may or may not still be alive. While I’m an introvert at heart, and most of my time outside of work is spent watching Netflix or working on a passion project, I also love going to concerts and local LGBTQ+ events. Feel free to reach out to me with any of your design or writing thoughts, or if you just want to talk about your favorite podcasts!
