Concordia University, St. Paul is hiring a Digital Services Librarian, who will support the academic mission of the Library and the University by ensuring students, faculty, and staff have consistent access to a variety of digital resources and services. This position serves as the functional expert for the Library’s discovery systems, e-resource platforms, authentication systems, and web properties. 

As part of the Library’s Collection Management & Services department, this position works collaboratively to ensure the Library’s electronic platforms and services maximize access, searchability, and interoperability. This position works across administrative boundaries to lead efforts to create a high-quality, consistent, and accessible online presence for the Library.

Essential Duties

  • Discovery systems: Configure and maintain the Library’s discovery systems and related data to maximize convenient and reliable access for Concordia’s students, faculty, and staff. Evaluate the effectiveness of these systems by collecting and analyzing relevant usage data. Troubleshoot access issues with the Library’s electronic and digital collections. 
  • Web presence: Administer and maintain the Library’s various web properties, including websites, research guides, and other web platforms and services. Gather usage data across web properties and ensure content is up-to date. Ensure that the Library’s web presence is consistent, accessible, and in line with University and departmental design standards. 
  • Authentication and access systems: Administer the Library’s authentication and access systems, including integrating authentication systems with Library resources. Ensure students, faculty, and staff have consistent, reliable, and secure access to Library electronic resources. Work collaboratively with Library and IT staff to configure and optimize authentication and access systems. 
  • Electronic resource management: Work collaboratively to manage the lifecycle of the Library’s electronic collections and resources. Troubleshoot access issues and contribute to ongoing assessment, selection, and integration of electronic resources. 
  • Professional development: Participate in professional development. Remain current with new methods and best practices related to library technologies, discovery systems, electronic resource management, and web development.
