Did you know that notable women artists are inadequately represented on Wikipedia and that less than 13% of editors identify as women? Join the Twin Cities Art+Feminism Team for the Third Annual Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon to address Wikipedia's gender gap.
Citizens of all gender identities and expressions are invited to participate in this communal updating of Wikipedia’s entries on art and feminism. No editing experience necessary, but if you have a laptop, please bring it. More details, sign up, and list of articles to edit on our Wikipedia Meetup Page. You can also connect with the event on Facebook.
If you are interested in volunteering for the event, helping with research, or spreading the word, please sign up in this Google Form and we’ll keep in touch as the event nears. Librarians make great editors! If you have questions about volunteering please contact Jessica Shaykett: jshaykett@americancraft.org.
Whether you’d like to share your librarian skills as a volunteer or show up on March 5th to edit, we hope you’ll join Art+Feminism in this international campaign to address the gender gap in Wikipedia.
