Colleagues,

I am pleased to share the news that Maggie Snow has has been appointed Director of Minitex, beginning February 24, 2020. Maggie brings significant experience to the role, including appointments in the Missouri River Regional Library, Austin (Minnesota) Public Library, Carver County Library, and Minneapolis Public Library/Hennepin County Library. She currently serves as Director of the Anoka County Library, an eight-branch system serving 340,000 residents. As president of the Minnesota Library Association, Maggie engaged in the issues and professional interests of all libraries in the state, and she was awarded MLA’s William G. Asp Distinguished Career Award in 2018. She has served in leadership positions with several nonprofits and has contributed as a member of governance committee of the Minnesota Digital Library, a Minitex program that partners with nearly 200 diverse cultural heritage organizations.

We are grateful for John Butler’s leadership during this interim period; he has provided sustained leadership and guidance for Minitex and will be a significant resource for the transition.

Maggie’s appointment, as the 4th director of Minitex, will build on the legacies of her predecessors and ensure the momentum and continued success of Minitex, an unparalleled resource for our state and region for nearly 50 years.
