It is December, a time for reflection and the time I ask our AskMN participating libraries to review their transcripts from the year and send me the best of the best, the cream of the crop.
Now that the school year is underway and students are deep in the learning process, we’re seeing more activity from K12 students with AskMN. We love connecting with kids and teachers, during or after school.

Please welcome East Central Regional Library to AskMN! Sarah Hawkins, newly appointed Resource Librarian, will be coordinating the training for ECRL staff that will happen sometime in September.

OCLC is offering several webinar training sessions in July for QuestionPoint subscribers. The sessions are free and cover a variety of different aspects (Administrator sessions and Librarian sessions).
Having a chat widget on your library website can draw in patrons when they need assistance. We have had the AskMN chat widget on the ELM website since July 2011. Since that installation we have seen a steady increase in questions being initiated via the widget rather than the chat form.
