Family History Day is held annually at Hennepin County Central Library (HCO). This year, on October 31, Joan Krey from the Minitex Resource Sharing unit hosted an information table publicizing Minnesota Reflections and highlighted interlibrary loan for genealogical and historical materials. Joan also gave a presentation entitled, “Genealogy Sources From Worldwide Libraries" which helped attendees discover free genealogy resources from sources such as WorldCat, HathiTrust, and Google Books, including how to request those items through interlibrary loan.

JoEllen Haugo, HCO Librarian, gave credit to the two dozen speakers and exhibitors for making the day so worthwhile for over 250 participants. She also personally thanked Joan, "From the survey results, your program was cited in the top five attended and also in the top five of programs found most useful!  And it was noted as one of the top eight organizations that was most helpful. Impressive. Thanks so much."  Some of you might remember that Joan Krey retired a few days after presenting at this conference - we are glad she had the opportunity to share her expertise in genealogy and interlibrary loan on behalf of Minitex.
