State law libraries collect legal information that is updated regularly. The American Association of Law Libraries has a Document Delivery Caucus that maintains a list of state-by-state legal resources. You will also find a Document Delivery Resource list. Sometimes a phone call or e-mail can save a lot of time filling tricky requests.
Here are some of the tools I like to use for legal information:
- Congressional bills, hearings, reports, Code of Federal Regulations, Federal Register, and other government information
- United States laws, the popular name tool is worth looking into if you aren’t sure of specifics.
- Don't forgot to check out the Library of Congress which has many useful tools.
