Quick Summary

Do you have questions about requesting a dissertation through interlibrary loan?

Body

If you are searching for a Ph.D. dissertation for a degree granted at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities from 2007 to the present, the approved version will be published in the University Digital Conservancy. You will also find Master’s theses from 2009 to the present. These titles do not currently appear in the University's online catalog, MNCAT.

Earlier printed dissertations may be available for loan if there is a circulating copy in the library. When there is only a single copy held in the University Archives, it will be non-circulating and unavailable for interlibrary loan. Keep in mind that if your patron is looking for dissertations written between 1954 - 2008, it may also be available for  purchase through ProQuest. For more detailed information on the availability of specific titles through interlibrary loan, contact us at Minitex, or check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

When you are looking for a dissertation from another institution, the Libraries have provided some useful links and tools that may help you locate what your patron needs.
