During a recent interlibrary loan meeting held in Wisconsin, Christine Barth, Interlibrary Loan Coordinator, revealed some interesting pet peeves shared by libraries throughout the state. I thought I would share the list to let you all know you are not alone!
- Libraries that don't lend available items.
- Lending libraries that give short loan periods.
- Insulated padded packages that "explode."
- Using tape that leaves residue on materials or causes tears.
- Lending libraries that give no reason for why they can't supply an item.
And the #1 most common pet peeve is (drumroll, please)... libraries that don't read the information in the notes field!
