Minitex, the University of South Dakota Wegner Health Sciences Library, and the Network of the National Library of Medicine are offering a Consumer Health Information Specialization (CHIS) cohort for library staff in Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota.  The Consumer Health Information Specialization (CHIS) is a program provided by the Medical Library Association (MLA) and offers training in providing health information services to consumers and recognition for the accomplishment of acquiring new health information skills.

Expand your skills and knowledge to become a confident, expert provider of health information to your community. This 12-month program, beginning February 18, 2025, combines asynchronous workshops, live virtual workshops, and monthly virtual meet-ups.  

By the end of the program, participants will have earned Level 1 Consumer Health Information Specialization.  This cohort provides a flexible learning experience, designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of library staff in delivering consumer health information.
