Quick Summary

Communication is a key component to cultivating stakeholder relationships, but may vary depending on the stakeholder. What we share with a director will be different information from what we share with patrons or city officials. We will talk about who your stakeholders are and how to build a relationship with them.

Body

Stakeholders are individuals who have a vested interest in your project but are not involved in the day-to-day work. Stakeholders can be supervisors, directors, patrons, legislators, city officials, and anyone else that may benefit from a project. Communication is a key component to cultivating those relationships, but communication will vary depending on the stakeholder. In this Minitex Conversation, we will share some success stories and challenges to cultivating those stakeholder relationships.

Each project management conversation will provide a short overview of a specific concept, method, skill, or technique that can be applied to a variety of projects followed by time for an interactive discussion of current work. These open office hours are designed to be a space for learning opportunities, community discussion, and sharing of ideas and practices in how to manage any library project. You can join at any time during the hour, but registration is required. Click here to register for the September 18th session:
