The Digital Initiatives & Metadata Education (DIME) unit is organizing a series of collection development conversations this fall, starting with Weeding in the Library on Wednesday, September 13, at 10:00 am.

Explore the art and science behind weeding library collections. Gain insights into different criteria and methodologies used to evaluate materials, keep collections engaging, up-to-date, and aligned with the ever-changing needs of the community. Learn about the challenges librarians face in making these decisions while balancing diverse perspectives and preserving intellectual freedom.
This conversation will use guided questions to engage the audience throughout the hour. Whether you are a seasoned librarian or an aspiring information professional, this conversation welcomes your participation. Bring your real-life case studies, share successful weeding strategies, and lessons learned from past experiences.
